
Felipe Ruiz López is a Spanish investor, entrepreneur, professor and board member with over four decades of experience in finance, industrial management, entrepreneurship and education.
Chairman of Renta Insular Canaria, a Spanish SICAV that invests in listed stocks in Europe and the USA, Felipe is also the Chairman of ANCOR SICAV SIF, investing in value-oriented funds across international markets. In parallel, he has been a successful entrepreneur in recent years in different sectors (mining, vineyard/winery business) together with investing across other asset classes (startups, class actions).
Felipe has strong experience in the search fund ecosystem, having invested in more than 55 companies across many different geographies (Spain, Germany, France, Italy, Chile, Mexico, Brazil, Australia, UK etc.) and sectors (software, fire protection, elevator maintenance, cybersecurity, pet nutraceuticals, HVAC, and build-ups), supporting entrepreneurs in acquiring and growing profitable SMEs.
He serves as Emeritus Professor of Business Administration at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, where he has taught corporate finance, capital markets, strategy, and accounting since 1976. He has coordinated major international doctoral and master’s programmes under the Erasmus Mundus initiative and has supervised numerous PhD theses in finance and industrial management. He is also a member of the MIT Sloan European Executive Board and serves on the boards of several companies in Europe.
